Born in Lisbon, Sallim lives between the seaside and the city. Her songs evoke her daily train journeys along the river and this transitory feeling is also present in how her music oscillates between local popular tradition and world’s pop music. With a bright and clear voice, she shares her constant search for the right place in the world, through tender and melancholic lyrics. From the artist’s care to details emerge three-dimensional compositions made of the multiplicity of vocal harmonies, along with sound images which unveil intimate landscapes. Her albums - edited by the independent label Cafetra records - showcase her delicacy towards pop music, which immediately captures the listener’s mind. The happy and fortunate encounter between her radiant voice, soft keyboard harmonies and clear confident beats, guided by her special depiction of emotions and sensations, shows us the urgency of what needs to be sung today, turning into crystallised eternity the inevitably ephemeral present.
